I was actually dragging myself to go NZ. I wasnt feeling well. The long hour wait in Brunei and the long hour flight was killing me. I was being unfriendly coz i didnt really talk to anyone. I think 2 of my classmates knew what was going on, coz i was missing in action in my daily YM and a colleague of mine did explain to him my condition.
Anyway, using Royal Brunei is CHEAP but plane is not as new and comfy. No alcoholic drink served, not much movie to kill time and no choice on what to eat! Haha…
Anyway, we were greeted by my Prof, GM’s wife and son and my cousin Adeline when we touched down. I remember the weather was gloomy. We were handed our goodie bag and had a short briefing. We were then divided into 2 groups, The Motel Group and the YHA hostel group. I was in the Motel Group, and we stayed in 168 Riccarton. It is a very nice place, clean and near to Riccarton Mall! and also near to Katmandu shop. Haha..shyte! We spent about NZD200 in the Katmandu shop. The thing is, we were only in that shop less than 10 mins (including the queueing to pay).
The first night was free and easy. Therefore, we went out with my cousin for dinner. It was in a chinese restaurant. The food is just OK because i wasnt feeling well. Went to Cashmere Hill and it was COLD!!!! freezing!!! and we went to walk around the city centre. The next day, we were on the road to go to Nelson. I dont even remember which route we used coz i was forever sleeping! The 2 nights in Nelson was a torture because i was very tired and i didnt have much energy. I didnt eat anything except plain water and pancake. Thank God for the most yummy pancake in the world. Haha… i cant even eat fruits or drink Milo or anything. Cant really eat porridge too but i did force myself to eat because i was still on medication. I remember feeling so thin that if you pull my jeans, it will fall. I think that few days, i lost about 5kg. Plain water, pancake and porridge were my staple food!
I dont even remember how Nelson looks like. Seriously, no picture in Nelson eventhough we stayed 2 nights there. Absolutely dont remember anything except YHA Nelson. haha..Oh ya.. celebrated GM’s birthday there. They had bbq, lots of yummy food but i was eating my plain porridge
On the day we were suppose to go back to Christchurch, we drove to a farm to pluck apple and to see sheep. Wasnt feeling too excited about it though. We passed through Hanmer Spring. Parents went to the pool and i didnt. Just walk around the town and did some shopping with my classmates. Was on painkiller, that is why i can at least enjoy myself there. I remember reaching Christchurch late and hungry. Lucky cousin brought us to her house for dinner. I was feeling maybe 50% better but i was still eating porridge and pumpkin. They had roasted lamb, gulp! and many many other yunny NZ food.
The next day, we went to meet the Chancelor and Vice Chancelor of Lincold University. Had lunch with them. It is actually really an honour to be there, but again, i was still feeling a little unwell. Went around the University for a short tour. Took lots of photographs there too
First time i was keen to take pictures with everyone else. Maybe i was feeling better or maybe i was just trying to be positive because the graduation is the next day!!
Stay tunes!
