I was unhappy with Air Asia ground staff in LCCT not too long ago. This entry is not to condemn them but i just have to voice my disappointment and anger.
Air Asia is a low cost, budget airline which operates domestic and international flights from Malaysia to other parts of the world. I have to admit, with Air Asia i have been to the country that i thought i wont have a chance to go, e.g Siem Reap. And it was dirt cheap. No kidding, we managed to book the zero fare, and all we had to pay was just the airport tax and some admin fees. And because of Air Asia, i will be flying to Macau and then to HK (ya.. again. 3rd time liao! Grrrr) in a few months time.
Anyway, what i was unhappy about was the ground staff in LCCT. We were travelling in a group (29 of us). In a big group like that, it’s hard to control each and everyone of them because LCCT was already very crowded and the 29 of us had to stick together. And so we had this wonderful idea. Since non of us have any bags to be checked in, we thought of checking in using the kiosk. And we did..and we tried. We managed to check in the first batch but to our horror, there was no boarding pass coming out from the kiosk. Panic… so i went over to the nearest Air Asia staff, unfortunately was the guy sitting in the merchandise booth. I told him what happened, and he said.. GO TO THE COUNTER. i told him, THERE IS NO ONE IN THE COUNTER BECAUSE WE ARE 3 HOURS EARLY. He said, THE KIOSK IS ALWAYS LIKE THAT. NO PAPER. GO COUNTER. i was like WHAT? CANT YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT? again he said GO COUNTER!!!
i was a little pissed off with his attitude. FINE! Go to the counter.
We waited for another hour, and fortunately, i had the EON Matta card which entitle me a free entry into the Plaza Premium Lounge. But the rest of them, including my CEO had to wait outside, some standing, some sloth around, sitting on the floor, etc. An hour pass, my colleague and i went to queue up. When it was our turn, the guy told us that we had checked in, and so we explained to him our situation. He kindly printed out the first batch’s boarding pass. We told him we are also checking in for the rest of them. He looks pissed off. i explained to him that we are in a group. Dont expect the 29 of us to jam the counter right? He said YES! I NEED TO SEE ALL THEIR FACES. i was pretty pissed off. i tried to reason with him again but guess what? He didnt even wanna look at us and he shouted NEXT!!! TO KUCHING!!
I was ANGRY, of coz. HELLO??!!! i am standing in front of you, you could at least tell me nicely that this is a procedure, ect etc. But izzit really a procedure?? What if we had just check in using the bloody kiosk?? I dont see any Air Asia staff standing there checking and making sure we check in our own ticket??!!!
So, i had to start calling them and tell them that the staff here wanna see their FACES before they are allowed to be checked in. And there we were, 29 of us… standing there, jam the line. And bravo! I guess he was..i donno.. shocked and angry perhaps, his computer also jam on him. He had to reboot whatever whatever, and that takes another 10 mins. He DIDNT even look at OUR FACES!! and after that, he just pass us our boarding pass and didnt even say a word.
Such a dumbo!!!
