First hand news

I was sleeping till 9.00 am this morning. Was feeling lazy and all that. It’s a Sunday after all :)

Jacky and i brought parents and grandma for lunch at Lanny’s place. Yummy Heng Hua noodle and kolomee. Grandma had just moved house. She;s now staying with 2nd uncle. She is in good mood and looks happy. Then Jacky and i went to Shawn’s place. Apparently, they are forming a neighbourhood watch and the committee will meet at 2pm. As i am quite interested in knowing what this watch is all about, Jacky and i rush to his place and at the same time can hear first hand story from Shawn’s mum. The news in the newspaper was a bit off track but the gist of the story is correct, i suppose. It was scary to hear and i dont even dare to imagine the scenario at that moment. I must say they are lucky that the gun was faulty and that the robbers were actually shocked to find that Shawn’s dad was at home at that time. Mrs Ting suffered bruise on her eye and a deep cut on her knee. Her servant, Maya also suffered some deep cuts on the face. I asked Mrs Ting if she remembers the whole sequent of the whole incident, she couldnt. I guess she’s still traumatised.

I think the meeting was a successful one. Lots of ideas and people are willing to work together. However, the committee members must be dedicated to do their part. My dad and i might initiate a neighbourhood watch soon in our area. I hope people will realise that it’s a not so safe place to stay anymore.

Talking about the election campaign, Jacky and i were out of our mind. We went to Kenyalang on last night to listen to the talk given by DAP. It was an eye opening and an entertaining one too. We stood there from 7pm till 10.30pm. Our legs are sore, especially Jacky’s coz he’s not used to standing for such a long time. Mine was still ok as i have ’shopping legs’. And it was pouring!! But we manage to stand in the shelter/ on the walkway of the shops. There were amazingly heaps of people, from the young and old. I kid you not. HEAPS of people.

I will go to another few ceramahs but deep down in my heart, i know who i will be voting for. Do you?
